My artistic life started in junior high when I took an art class. One of my lessons was in clay and I loved it. But I had a busy life ahead of me as I traveled quite a bit with my parents showing horses in hunting and jumping. But I was always doing something artistic such as needlepoint or embroidery work.
After college my career and traveling were more important. Having traveled many areas of the world I still wanted to do something artistic. Being able to see many cultures and their artwork I made a promise to myself I would fulfill my artistic side somehow.
Then 20 years ago I took an off loom class on peyote and was hooked. Hooked on beads of any kind. Glass, crystals, polymer and the list goes on. Whenever I traveled I would drag my poor husband to every bead store I could find.
Then I found lampworking (the art of glass bead making with FIRE)! With the help of an incredible instructor, Marcia Kmack at Cave Creek Glassworks, in Carefree, AZ it has been an awesome journey into the world of glass. Lampworking has been a wonderful experience and to enhance my beads I have acquired my Level II Certification for PMC (Precious Metal Clay).
I teach many of the art forms I have learned over the years out of my home. Some of those classes include but aren't limited to Lampworking, Glass Fusing, Art Wireworking, Precious Metal Clay and Off Loom Beading. Check the Schedule Section for a current listing of my teaching and show schedule.
